OVERVIEW
Preschool programs provide for the important early development of a child’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. Optimal growth in these areas during the preschool years is crucial for successful learning in later years. It is important that those working with young children in the preschool setting be well prepared to provide appropriate, quality programs.

Through the completion of Edinboro University’s Associate in Preschool Education program, you will acquire the competencies and skills necessary to work effectively with young children.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The Associate of Science in Preschool Education is designed for individuals interested in working in the preschool setting. This program emphasizes the child’s development from prenatal life to age six.

With this associate degree, you can:

Serve as an aide in private, public, and church-related day care; nursery school; Head Start or any other preschool program.

Develop and upgrade competencies for working with young children.

Qualify for staff positions in various early childhood education programs.

Apply credits earned in this program toward a bachelor’s degree in elementary/early childhood education.
