Cooper Hall

Cooper Hall

Built in 1965, the building was named in honor of Joseph A. Cooper, the third principal (as presidents were then called) of the Northwestern State Normal School at Edinboro. Cooper headed the school for 29 years between 1863 and 1892, longer than any other chief executive in the history of the institution. Originally intended to be a science classroom building, it continues to serve as classroom space, as well as laboratory, planetarium, the observatory, and a greenhouse. It holds faculty offices for the departments of biology and health services, chemistry, and geosciences.
