December commencement ceremony will receive their diploma by mail
as soon as the diplomas are received from the printer. These individuals
are also invited to participate in that ceremony. Individuals who com-
plete degree requirements during first semester will participate in the
December commencement. Individuals who complete degree require-
ments at the conclusion of second semester will participate in the May
commencement ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed to students follow-
ing official verification of completion of degree requirements.
When extenuating circumstances warrant, the provost of the University
may permit an individual who will be completing degree requirements
during the summer sessions following the May commencement to par-
ticipate in the commencement ceremony even though degree require-
ments have not been met. However, the individual will not receive a
diploma until the degree requirements have been completed.
Applications are available in the Office of Records and Registration and
must be submitted by April 1.
Due to the limited availability of seating, only part of the total faculty is
asked to participate in the commencement ceremony. Department chair-
persons designate the individuals who will represent their departments.
Faculty members who participate in the commencement may obtain aca-
demic attire through the Campus Bookstore.
Enrollment Management and
Retention

of Admissions, Financial Aid, Records and Registration, Scheduling,
and Career Services. The unit was formed to provide exceptional service
to students, faculty, and staff. Financial Aid, Records and Registration,

Center for Career Services
The Center for Career Services provides developmental counseling to
students throughout their college experience to facilitate college major
and career decisions, and to prepare them to enter the world of work
upon graduation. The Center serves as a resource for information and
provides assistance for prospective students and undergraduates who are
undecided about academic majors and/or career directions to ensure that
they receive the career guidance necessary to make important decisions
about their future. The Center for Career Services also provides a multi-
tude of career planning services (e.g., interest, aptitude/ability, and pref-

resource materials) which are available to all students seeking assistance
in life/career planning. Freshmen find these services particularly helpful.
Academic advising is provided on a referral basis.
Career planning services are lifetime services extended to Edinboro
graduates. Undergraduate and graduate students should become
acquainted with the Center and its staff early in their University career.
Graduate students should also familiarize themselves with the Center
and the staff. Job search services include mock interviewing, sponsor-
ship of several job fairs, on-campus recruiters, and access to career and
job hunting resource materials, including those on the Center's home
page. The Center conducts individual sessions and professional devel-
opment workshops on various topics such as career development,
resume writing, interviewing, and job searching, as well as topical pre-
sentations specific to majors. The Center for Career Services is located
in 106 McNerney Hall. Students are encouraged to call for appointments
and hours.
