general admission requirements for graduate
studies at Edinboro University and with the
special admission requirements of this curricu-
lum listed below:

Must have a bachelor of arts degree in
psychology or completed a minimum of
15 semester hours of undergraduate cred-
it in psychology including one course in
statistics, one course in learning or exper-
imental, and one course in either person-
ality or abnormal psychology.
2.
Must have three individuals write letters
of recommendation. At least one of these
letters must come from a professor of
psychology.
3.
Must complete the department admis-
sions information and essay which
includes the following:
(a) a listing of all psychology courses
completed, the semester in which
they were completed, the final grade
received, and an indication if any
were taken for graduate credit;
(b) a list of relevant clinical experience;
(c) a list of relevant research experience;
(d) a personal essay indicating the stu-
dent's professional goals and the
personal qualities which would
facilitate achieving those goals.

Degree Requirements
Individuals must comply with the degree
requirements established by Edinboro Univer-
sity for the Master of Arts degree. A degree
will not be awarded solely on the basis of cred-
it earned. Candidates for the degree must
demonstrate they possess the ability to assume
the degree of responsibility required of a mas-
ter's level clinician and the personal character-
istics essential to effective working relation-
ships with others. Students in this program

NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

The purpose of this course is to acquaint the
student with an understanding of basic func-
tions and anatomy of the human nervous sys-
tem as they relate to normal and pathological
behavior. Topics covered will include: devel-
opmental issues, higher functions such as
affective behavior, and neuropsychological

This course is designed to familiarize the stu-
dent with current research on family dynamics
and its relatedness to the etiology of childhood

This course will present the findings and theo-
ries of child psychology relevant to personali-
ty growth, along with findings and theories

PRACTICUM IN CLINICAL
PSYCHOLOGY
3 sem. hrs.
This course will provide students with an
opportunity to practice skills obtained in psy-
chotherapy, assessment, and theory classes, in
an applied setting of interest. In addition, stu-
dents will have an opportunity to consider eth-
ical principles as they relate to actual clinical
practice, and to develop greater sensitivity to
client from diverse backgrounds. Prerequisite:
acceptance into MA clinical psychology pro-
gram.

This course provides a fifteen week full-time
internship. Prerequisite: Satisfactory comple-
tion of the comprehensive examination for the
Clinical Psychology degree program. NOTE:

PSYCHOPATHOLOGY
3 sem. hrs.
An advanced study of the conceptual models,
behavior patterns, and disease entities which
define adult human psychopathology. Empha-
sis will be placed upon the identification and
analysis of those syndromes most frequently
encountered, diagnosed, and treated by M.A.
level clinicians working in community mental
health settings. Prerequisite: PSYC370 and
PSYC420 or permission of instructor.

CLINICAL ASSESSMENT I:
COGNITIVE (**) 3 sem. hrs.
This course will deal with the basic principles,
issues, theories, and ethics involved in psycho-
logical assessment. Additionally, students will
learn to administer, score, and understand the
interpretive principles of the major instru-
ments used in the clinical assessment of cogni-
tive functions. Instruments covered include:
Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Wechsler
Intelligence Scale for Children Revised,
Bender Visual Motor Gestalt Test, Bender
Visual Retention Test, Wide Range Achieve-
ment Test, Visual-Aural Digit Span Test,
